The Kitchen Counter - where life lands

Why “the kitchen counter”? Simply because, in our home, everything lands on the kitchen counter. Whether it’s food, music, bills, electronics, children, clothing, crafts, etc, etc. I was looking for inspiration for a new blog...and the kitchen counter was screaming out to me. We take our counter for granted..but really it is where we meet and chat with friends and family, where we spend time reviewing homework and where we create beautiful meals. What an integral part of our homes.

It also makes for a terrific jumping off point for my blog. I hope to have a conversation about various topics in life. Topics that I hope you will find interesting, educational and inspiring. I’ll attempt some “unscientific” surveys...to see how you are living your day to day lives.

I’ll keep on reading with my mom...while living with my family.

Here we go.

When I saw the name of your new blog I thought "how perfect!" because you're right - it's exactly where my "life lands" (to be perfectly honest, I also thought "damn - I wish I had come up with that name .... and I don't even have a blog! ) It feels like I spend about 80% of my day standing at my kitchen counter - meal planning, talking about everyone’s day, baking, reading, sorting through school paperwork - you name it. I can watch my kids as they sit at the kitchen table eating or crafting or driving each other crazy, or watch them in the back-yard, I can gesture to my next-door neighbour while we talk on the phone while she's standing at her kitchen counter. You are so right – the kitchen counter is where everything lands. Great idea for a blog – I look forward to following along! Mary-Ann

Love it Mary-Ann! I might just ask you to write a little something about what's on your kitchen counter! Thanks!
