My eldest daughter proclaimed this morning that "Last year we had the worst March break ever!" Yikes! To explain...last year my youngest daughter became sick on the first day of March break and was sick all...week...long. My eldest daughter and I had to find entertaining things to do in the house...between cleaning up barf. Fun! We created a puppet theatre, drew many pictures, read many books and baked a lot of cookies. The only redeeming moment came at the end of the week. My husband was able to get home early so that my eldest daughter and I could hop on the streetcar and head downtown to dinner and the bookstore. This one evening together spawned a beautiful book titled "The Night of The Dinner ". Here's an exerpt from the book.

the cover of the book
"They went to Chapters. Madeline picked out a Melanie Watt book.
Jen picked out a design magazine."
