School's out for summer. The kids are ready to jump through the sprinkler and hang at the park. Which I fully support. However, there are times when the kids are looking for quieter activities. One of our favourite creative activities, at any time of the year, is story writing. The summer is a great time for creative story writing and these cute summer story writing pages are just the tool your kids need.
Yep, summer is the perfect time to grab a seat under a big oak tree and write some amazing stories. We even created a collection of summer story writing prompts to inspire your child's summer stories. But, every author needs the right equipment. In the summertime, this means using our fun summer story writing pages.
Summer Story Writing Pages for Kids
We've created two different summer story writing pages for kids. The first is more of a title page or cover page. Print off our summer story writing page.

For the kids who like to include pictures in their stories, we've even included a third page that has a giant space for your child's summer artwork. Print off our summer story writing page with picture space. Maybe the story they're writing needs some illustrations or collage art. There's plenty of space to get creative.
How to Use Summer Story Writing Pages with Kids
These summer writing pages are designed to encourage young writers - whether your writer is excited about writing or not. Here is how to encourage your kid to get writing this summer. Print off a few copies of each of our pages. Add the pages to either a clipboard or hole-punch the pages and add them into a colourful binder. Be sure to include a pencil or pen and some colouring pencil crayons, for their supporting artwork. Print off our summer story writing prompts and pass one along to your child to give them a jumping-off point for their tale.
At the end of the summer, you can take all the pages to your local print shop and have them bind the pages into a summer storybook. How awesome would that be?! It is super inexpensive to have pages bound at a print shop and kids absolutely love having their own books to flip through.
